Jakob Brace threw a shutout to lead the Panthers past Citrus 7-0 on Tuesday.
The Panthers secured the victory thanks to four runs in the sixth inning. Lecanto’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Chris Dirosa and Joe Caggiano, an error on a ball put in play by Brace, and a double by Nick Morales.
Brace got the win for the Panthers. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking one.
Yates started the game for Citrus. He allowed eight hits and five runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Patrick, Banning, and Bescher each contributed in relief for Citrus.
Caggiano went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Lecanto Panthers Varsity in hits. Lecanto Panthers Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. John Sams made the most plays with 12.
