The PANTHERS fell 4-2 to DUNNELLON HIGH SCHOOL on Thursday despite out-hitting them six to five.
In the second inning, the Panthers got their offense started. Lecanto scored one run when JOHN SAMS singled.
Leinenbach earned the win for DUNNELLON HIGH SCHOOL. He surrendered two runs on five hits over four innings, striking out seven. Jimmy Weber threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
SAMS took the loss for the Panthers. He went three innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out one.
JESSE THOMAS went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Panthers in hits.
DUNNELLON HIGH SCHOOL collected five hits. Weber and Lee each racked up multiple hits for DUNNELLON HIGH SCHOOL. DUNNELLON HIGH SCHOOL didn’t commit a single error in the field. Santiago had the most chances in the field with eight.
Lecanto is now 1-1 on the season.
