The Lecanto Panther girls basketball team used another outstanding team defensive effort to pull out to a 20-3 halftime lead in route to a 37-17 win over the Weeki Wachee Hornets. The Panthers held the Hornets scoreless in the 2nd quarter of the game.
Leading the Panthers in scoring was junior Zay Rome with 9 points, with juniors Lauren Diehl and Jasmine Henry adding 5 each. Eleven of 14 Panthers scored in the game.
The Panthers upped their record to 9-3, 6-2 in the conference with the win. They face a tough Springstead Eagles team on Friday night at the Panther Den. JV action starts at 6:00 PM.
